Rising results in ICT

Another outstanding year for the ICT Department

The percentage of pupils receiving A* to C grades within ICT at each level were:   

  • Both GCSE Double Award and GCSE Single Award  - 94.1%
  • GCE AS level - 68.3%
  • GCE A2 - 88.2%

Online Learning Graduation for Northern Ireland

On the 3rd June 2010, the Regional Training Unit (RTU) for N Ireland, celebrated another graduation event in Malone House Belfast.  Over 60 practising post-primary teachers and officers from the education support services (ELBs, ETI, CCEA) successfully completed RTU’s Online Learning and Teaching for Educators Programme (OLTE).  

Graduating was our own ICT and Business Studies Teacher Mrs McKenna!

FemininITy Conference

The Year 14 ICT classes attended the FemininITy Conference in the Waterfront Hall on Friday 9 October.

The full day event showcased the involvement of women in the world of ICT and activities ranged from workshops by Google to presentations by the Chairperson of the Institute of Directors. The conference brought together 6th form girls from a wide range of schools throughout Northern Ireland to encourage them to think of a career in ICT.

The successful day was marked by Tori Shaw, 14W, winning an HP printer scanner for correctly answering all questions on the quiz sheet distributed as part of the welcome pack.
